Job Description
Harvest Training and Consultancy (U) Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a reputable healthcare provider operating in Uganda and the wider region. The Accountant will be responsible for the financial management and reporting of the company, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards. The ideal candidate should be a member of ICPAU with a strong academic background and at least three years of relevant experience. The role requires familiarity with ERP accounting systems and the ability to manage finances in a dynamic and fast-paced medical environment.
Key Accountabilities:
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and statements
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Monitor and manage cash flows, budgets, and forecasts
Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements
Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors
Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
Support financial operations of other branches and subsidiaries
Provide financial insights to management for strategic planning
Use ERP and other accounting software for accurate reporting
Support procurement and inventory control processes
Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Full membership with ICPAU (Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda)
First Class or Second Upper Bachelor’s Degree in BCom, BBA (Accounting), or BSc Accounting & Finance
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in a similar accounting role
Proficiency in accounting software, especially ERP systems
Strong knowledge of financial regulations and reporting requirements
Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a busy environment
Experience in a healthcare or medical setting is an added advantage
High levels of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail
