Job Description
Serve as the primary point of contact for program stakeholders, including partners, participants, and local authorities. Facilitate clear and effective communication between all parties involved.
Duties and Responsibilities
Program Coordination: Coordinate all aspects of the program or project within the designated country, ensuring that it aligns with the organization's objectives and goals.
Logistics Management: Arrange logistics for program activities such as travel, accommodation, meetings, and events.
Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for program stakeholders, including partners, participants, and local authorities. Facilitate clear and effective communication between all parties involved.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to program implementation in the country and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Oversee the monitoring and evaluation of program activities to assess progress and impact, and make necessary adjustments to ensure objectives are met.
Budget Management: Manage program budgets effectively, ensuring that funds are allocated efficiently and expenditures are in line with the budgetary constraints.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on program activities, progress, and challenges for internal and external stakeholders.
Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and understanding of local customs, traditions, and norms to effectively navigate interactions with local communities and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Competencies
Education: A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international development, social sciences, business administration, or a related field. A master's degree may be preferred for some positions.
Experience: Previous experience in program coordination, project management, or a related field is typically required. Experience working in the specific country or region where the program is being implemented is often preferred.
Language Skills: Proficiency in the local language(s) of the country where the program is being implemented is usually required. Proficiency in English is often necessary for communication with international stakeholders.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for building and maintaining relationships with diverse stakeholders, including local partners, government officials, and community members.
Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills are necessary to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify challenges and develop creative solutions to address them in a timely manner.
Cultural Competence: Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to effectively work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
