The Mountains of the Moon University, is a public university in Uganda. Founded as a private, non-profit institution, the university became a public institution following an executive directive in January 2018. It is named after the Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the Mountains of the Moon.

Job Description
To teach, supervise, promote research studies and disseminate research findings.The duties of a Lecturer in Literature primarily revolve around teaching, research, and academic service.
Duties and Responsibilities
Academic Administration and Service
Departmental Roles: Participate in departmental meetings, contribute to curriculum development discussions, and take on administrative tasks as assigned.
Committee Work: Serve on academic committees, such as those responsible for admissions, curriculum development, or student welfare.
Event Organization: Help organize academic events such as guest lectures, literary readings, conferences, or workshops.
Community and Professional Engagement
Public Lectures and Workshops: Engage with the broader community by giving public lectures, organizing workshops, or participating in literary festivals.
Collaboration: Collaborate with colleagues in interdisciplinary projects or departmental initiatives.
Outreach: Participate in outreach activities aimed at promoting literature and the humanities, possibly involving local schools or community groups.
Professional Development
Continuous Learning: Stay updated with current research and teaching methods in literature by attending workshops, seminars, and conferences.
Peer Collaboration: Engage in collaborative research and teaching initiatives with other academics, both within and outside the institution.
Innovation in Teaching: Experiment with and implement innovative teaching methods, such as digital humanities tools, creative assignments, or experiential learning opportunities.
Contribution to the Institution
Institutional Service: Participate in broader university initiatives, such as open days, student recruitment, or academic outreach.
Interdisciplinary Work: Collaborate with other departments or programs on interdisciplinary courses or projects that integrate literature with other fields of study.
Qualifications and Competencies
Should have a PhD in Economics, with a Specialization in Development Economics
A Masters in Economics (Specialization in Development Economics)
Minimum of an upper second class degree in Economics, Development Economics, Statistics, Quantitative Economics
Experience and Competences
Should have at least three (3) years of teaching experience.
Demonstrated computer literacy and adequate communication skills are a MUST.
Being a registered professional is an added advantage.
