CCTV Hardware Technician at Mukwano Industries Uganda Ltd
Job Description
Configure and program CCTV systems for recording, including setting up motion detection and scheduling recording times. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with CCTV systems, identifying hardware faults and software glitches.
Duties and Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and repair CCTV systems, including cameras, DVRs, monitors, and associated cabling and hardware.
Conduct regular system checks and updates to ensure that CCTV systems remain functional and up-to-date.
Perform site surveys to determine optimal camera placement and ensure coverage of critical areas for surveillance.
Configure and program CCTV systems for recording, including setting up motion detection and scheduling recording times. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with CCTV systems, identifying hardware faults and software glitches.
Provide training to clients on the operation of CCTV systems, including how to review footage, export video clips, and manage system settings.
Implement network configurations for IP-based CCTV systems, ensuring secure and efficient data transmission.
Coordinate with security personnel to provide video evidence and support investigations.
Upgrade CCTV systems by integrating new technologies to enhance system capabilities.
Any other duties assigned by Network Administrator/IT Head.
Qualifications and Competencies
Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology.
Knowledge of CCTV components i.e., new age surveillance cameras, Monitoring station, Cables and Routers, Video Recorders, Data storage and CCTV software.
Professional certification is an added advantage.
2 years relevant work experience in CCTV installation, maintenance and network configuration.
Skills & Professional Attributes Required
Possess strong mechanical aptitude, mathematical and troubleshooting skills.
Hands-on hardware/network troubleshooting experience.
Ability to install and administer computer hardware, software and networks.
Self-motivated with excellent personnel management skills.
Understanding of the organization goals, objectives and quality management systems.
Ability to handle multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced working environment.
Excellent team player and has the ability to manage time in an efficient manner.
Good Communication skills, excellent customer support attitude and good documentation skills.
