Job Description
Development Alternatives, Inc. (DAI) is a private development company based in Bethesda, Maryland, US with additional corporate offices in London and Hemel Hempstead in the United Kingdom. We tackle fundamental social and economic development problems caused by inefficient markets, ineffective governance, and instability. We work with a wide range of clients, including national and local governments, bilateral and multilateral donors, private corporations, and philanthropies.
About WFS Project:
The USAID Feed the Future Uganda Water and Food Systems (WFS) Activity is a five-year activity (202302028) implemented by Development Alternatives Incorporated (DAI Global LLC) as a lead partner with funding from USAID Feed the Future in partnership with Catholic Relief Services, Stantec, Market Share Associates, and the International Water Management Institute. The Activity aims to inclusively and equitably improve food and water security in the Kyoga Basin in northeastern Uganda, specifically three watersheds — Lokok, Awoja, and Lokere, by empowering individuals and communities to mitigate and adapt to shocks and stressors in order to improve livelihoods, maintain nutrition and health wellbeing, address drivers of conflict, and reduce reliance on humanitarian assistance.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Data Manager will support WFS – Activity performance information. He/she will be responsible for managing data, preforming data analytics. and visualization.
This support will also include the creation and maintenance of databases, dashboards and websites.
The Data Manager will also assist project stakeholders in reporting and aggregating indicator data and in using new online software to report performance results.
The role reports to Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Director

Qualifications and Competencies
Degree in information technology; data analytics; development economics, statistics, business, or development administration; political science economics or development studies.
At least 9 years of experience in database management, knowledge management, and data visualization.
Demonstrated knowledge of experience working with USAID funded projects and information systems with proven proficiency in statistical packages such as ArcGIS, STATA, SAS, SPSS, and Microsoft packages particularly Excel and Access.
Ability to generate data tables, charts, graphs will be a key requirement.
Excellent communication, writing, facilitation and presentation skills and fluency in English is required.
Demonstrated ability manage high-level relationships with partner organizations and implementing partner grantees.
