Job Description
To contribute to our tea and coffee plantations by plucking tea leaves, weeding tea gardens, and attending to the welfare of residences and villages, ensuring sanitation and cooking facilities are well maintained.
Company background
Uganda Tea Corporation has been a leading tea producer and exporter in Uganda for the last 20 years. It has three estates with its headquarters at Kasaku near Lugazi. Kasaku is about 48km from Kampala and 40km from Jinja.
Duties and Responsibilities
Carry out weeding both chemically and manually as per the set company standards
Carryout banana/matooke operations (de-leafing and de-suckering)
Pluck tea leaves with shears with a consideration of good quality leaf.
Carry out spraying for pests and diseases in the assigned fields.
Carry out leaf sorting, leaf caring, and leaf inspection appropriately and in time before weighments.
Maintain company boundaries and roads by slashing/weeding.
Green leaf bag offloading from trucks and loading withered leaf onto the conveyor.
Firewood loading, splitting, transporting, and feeding the steam boiler.
Monitor tea cuts, and fermentation, record temperature, clean spillages, wash and maintain machines.
Carry out cleaning of the drier area, collecting cyclone BMF, and drier maintenance.
Ensure timely packing of teas, transportation, stitching, stocking, loading, weighing, and labeling packing material.
Participate in factory housekeeping, office cleaning, fiber roller cleaning, grading, sorting and re- sorting, winnowing, transporting bags, and stocking.
Any other activities as may be assigned by your supervisor

Qualifications and Competencies

Work experience: No specific work experience is needed.
Age: should be 18 – 54 years.
Ugandan National Identity card
Airtel number registered in national id names.
Critical skills required
Written and Verbal communication, Mental upright and Sound
