Job Description

Subcontractor Auditors in various certification schemes across AFRICA

Food manufacturing, Chemical manufacturing, Banking, Retail, Logistics, Power and Utilities, Automotive, Public Sector, Transport, Information Technology, Mining, Construction, Industry and Oil and Gas sectors.
Bureau Veritas UGANDA is looking for Subcontractor Auditors with diverse industry including Manufacturing, construction, agriculture, healthcare, mining, information technology, energy, finance and Food backgrounds reporting to the Head of Certification.

Duties and Responsibilities

Organise, or participate in organisation of the audit
Carry out review of documentation
Prepare the audit plan
Carry out audit by:
Lead the opening meeting
Carry out individual interviews as identified with the client
Prepare the conclusions for the report
Lead the closing meeting at the end of the audit
Assess client compliance in order to issue or maintain certification
Ensure timely production of good quality reports (including expenses claims)

Accountabilities

Follow-up of actions to be done after the audit:
Agree the non-conformities with the client
Review the corrective actions proposed by the client
Accept and sign off the corrective actions
Submit the paperwork to the relevant local office
Issue audit report and time-expenses report timely
Ensures the follow-up of certification
Follow-up audits in accordance with the terms of the contract
Contribute to the sharing of knowledge
Remain abreast of changes in the relevant areas, as well as developments in norms and regulations
Maintain and share knowledge and skills Contribute to developing business providing leads.

Qualifications and Competencies

Have a varied breadth of industry sector experience,
Experience of carrying out either third-party or second-party audits.
Have held positions with responsibility of Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental management systems, Food Management systems, Social Audits, Sustainability, Energy and information security departments.
Demonstrate strong working knowledge and experience of management system standards, compliance and auditing techniques.
Ability to work on own initiative.
Excellent organizational skills
Available time for training and qualification purposes

Preferred Qualifications Required:

Proven knowledge of any of the following schemes: in QMS, EMS, OHSMS, ISMS, EnMS ,FSMS,FSSC, GLOBAL GAP and Sustainability (ISO 14064, Gold Standard, VCS, CDM)
An advantage if already qualified to Lead Auditor Status in QMS, EMS, OHSMS, ISMS , EnMS, , FSMS, FSSC, GLOBAL GAP, ISO 14064, Gold Standard, VCS, CDM, GRI, TCFD.
Educated to an engineering/food technology/ degree level or equivalent.
