Job Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Hotel Procurement Manager at Arcadia Suites Hotel Kampala. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day procurement tasks, including supplier evaluation, contract negotiation, and contract management. The role requires strong analytical skills and expertise in procurement processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
Vendor Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with suppliers to foster collaboration, address issues, and drive continuous improvement.
Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop procurement budgets and monitor expenses. Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to optimize procurement processes.
Sourcing and Purchasing: Oversee the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services required by the organization. Ensure timely and cost-effective procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
Contract Management: Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, and enforcing contract terms and conditions.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate procurement risks, such as supply chain disruptions, price fluctuations, and quality issues.
Compliance and Legal: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. Stay updated on changes in procurement regulations and industry best practices.
Inventory Management: Coordinate with inventory and warehouse teams to optimize inventory levels and minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
Performance Measurement and Reporting: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of procurement processes. Prepare reports and dashboards to communicate procurement performance to stakeholders.
Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals. Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure the team achieves its objectives.
Continuous Improvement: Continuously assess and improve procurement processes, systems, and workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and drive innovation.
Qualifications and Competencies
Supplier Evaluation and Contract Negotiation skills
Analytical Skills and Procurement expertise
Contract Management knowledge
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
Attention to detail and the ability to multitask
Strong organizational and time management skills
Experience in the hotel industry or hospitality procurement is a plus
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
Recent experience in store keeping and management
